Vajra's harvest: Good Morning Barolo

Picking the last Moscato d'Asti and getting ready for Riesling and Dolcetto d'Alba.

The winery

The winery is located at West side of Barolo Common, in Vergne locality.

Run since 1972 by Aldo Vaira, supported today by all the family, it is a solid reality where the wine quality and the love for work are the principal features.

In a modern winery they receive the grapes of their own vineyards, which are spread on a surface of 50 hectares about and which are situated at an altitude going from 350 up to 480 metres a.s.l.

People work there with science and conscience: science as they use all the modern techniques and instruments you can have at your disposal today; conscience that the success of Langhe wines are the fruit of many years of experience and tradition.

The cultivated varieties are essentially Piedmont typical ones, with a great attention towards the bent of every single soil.

History says that these hills formed about a million years ago and they are geologically referred to the Tortonian, the typical soil of Barolo and La Morra, with calcareous marl, white and blue, inserted into rocky residuals.

Thanks to that, the wines are elegant, fragrant, fruity, with a particular aging capacity.
